FAQ — Frequently Asked Questions
Last updated: 5 September 2026
This page collects the most common questions about SMana. For a complete, ordered explanation, see the Game Manual.
Players
How do I improve a player?
Play him when it makes sporting sense and use training to develop the attributes you want. Age, current level and career stage affect growth. Progress may accumulate over time, so you should not expect a full point after every training cycle. No attribute can exceed 20.
What do player attributes mean?
The 12 attributes range from 1 to 20. The higher the value, the better the player is in that area. The Manual explains Acceleration, Handling, Tackle, Passing, Dribbling, Assist, Shooting, Reflexes, Stamina, Pace, Strength and Agility.
What do the stars mean?
Stars summarise the player’s current level in his natural role. They are useful for quick comparisons, but attributes, role and fitness still matter.
Why do two players with the same stars feel different?
Because their attribute distributions can be very different. Stars summarise level; individual attributes describe the type of player.
Can an attribute exceed 20?
No. The maximum value for every attribute is 20.
Lineups and matches
How many players must I field?
You need 11 unique starters and may also select up to 4 substitutes.
Which formations can I use?
5-4-1, 5-3-2, 4-4-2, 4-5-1, 4-3-3 and 3-4-3.
Can I play someone out of position?
Yes. The game does not impose rigid blocks. FB is natural for Defenders and W is natural for Midfielders. A move to a nearby department is marked Adapted; more extreme moves are marked Out of position and carry a larger performance penalty. The final choice always belongs to the manager.
What happens if I do not change the lineup?
The last valid saved lineup remains active until you change it.
What happens if a starter becomes injured or suspended?
The saved lineup cannot use that player. The system prevents the match from being left without a valid team and may complete the lineup. Without Plus assistance, an official automatic lineup carries the penalty defined by the game.
How do substitutions work?
Substitutions can be handled automatically during the match. The system chooses from the available bench according to position and match context. Up to four substitutions can be made in total.
Is a sent-off player replaced?
No. After a red card the team continues with fewer players.
Do I need to be online during matches?
No. Matches are processed automatically at the scheduled time using the available lineup.
Cards, suspensions and injuries
How many yellow cards cause a suspension?
The third yellow card in the same competition triggers a one-match suspension in that competition. The yellow-card count then resets.
Do league cards also count in cups?
No. League, National Cup and World Elite Cup have separate disciplinary counts.
How long is a suspension after a red card?
Normally one match; in more serious cases determined by the game it can be two matches.
How long does an injury last?
Current injuries can keep a player out for roughly 1 to 3 matches or the corresponding World-day period. Staff reports the expected absence.
Can an injured player train or play?
An injured player cannot be selected while unavailable. Recovery status is shown in the Medical Centre and Staff messages.
What fitness does a player have after recovery?
When recovery is complete, the player returns available with 100% fitness.
Transfers and SMCoins
How do I earn SMCoins?
Through home league-match revenue, cup participation, sporting prizes, player sales and release compensation. The Manual contains the full explanation.
Can I buy SMCoins with real money?
No. SMCoins are only an in-game currency and are not linked to Plus purchases.
How do I sign a free agent?
A free agent can be signed directly at the displayed price if you have enough funds and the transaction is allowed.
How does an offer to a BOT club work?
The BOT evaluates the proposal immediately and can accept, reject or counter. Its internal valuation rules are not public.
How does an offer to a human manager work?
The offer remains pending until the owner accepts, rejects or makes a counteroffer.
What does “listed” mean?
The owner has set a price. Another manager can buy the player directly at that amount without opening normal negotiations.
How much do I receive if I release a player?
The club receives compensation equal to half the market value the player had while registered. The player then enters the free-agent market with a new price.
Why can I not sell or release a player?
One possible reason is the minimum squad size: a transaction cannot reduce the squad below 17 players. Other player states or active operations may also block a sale.
Why do I see interest but no offer?
Interest means a club is monitoring the player; it is not yet an economic proposal. It may develop into an offer or disappear.
Can I receive offers for a player who is not listed?
Yes. Clubs can show interest and make spontaneous offers. Listing increases visibility but is not the only way to attract bids.
Where do I see interests and received offers?
The Sales page shows the market status of your players. Concrete proposals are collected on the Offers page, and active offers are highlighted in the Market menu.
Does the market keep changing if I do nothing?
Yes. BOT clubs may scout players, make offers, continue talks or withdraw over time. Their internal probabilities and selection criteria are not public.
Messaging between coaches
How do I contact another coach?
Open a club managed by a human manager and choose Contact coach. Enter a subject and message. BOT clubs cannot receive messages.
Where do I find messages from other managers?
Open Messages and the Coaches section. Manager conversations are separate from Board and Staff messages.
What happens if I delete a conversation?
It is removed only from your view. The other manager still sees it, and an administrative copy may be retained for moderation and security.
Can I report a message?
Yes. The administration may review the whole conversation for context and may close the thread or take other measures under the service rules.
What does a closed conversation mean?
A conversation closed by the administration remains readable but cannot receive new messages. Only the administration can reopen or permanently delete it.
Friendlies
How do friendlies work?
During the seasonal break you can invite a human or BOT club from its profile. Once confirmed, SMana looks for the first free slot for both clubs between 14:00 and 21:00.
Can I play two friendlies on the same day?
Yes, if both the 14:00 and 21:00 slots are free for both clubs. Fitness and injuries work normally, so heavy use has real sporting consequences.
Are there extra time and penalties?
No. A single friendly ends after 90 minutes and may finish as a draw.
Do friendlies award prizes?
They do not award sporting prizes. Each club receives 5 SMCoins as a small match revenue.
How is injury duration measured?
Injury duration is expressed in World days, not matches. If several fixtures fall inside that period, the player misses all of them.
Referral and free Plus
How does the Referral programme work?
From Account or the Plus page you can copy your personal link or share it through WhatsApp/QR Code. Every 5 valid new managers earns 1 free month of Plus.
When does an invited user become valid?
After registering through your link, verifying the email address and taking control of a club.
Do free months stack?
Yes. 10 valid invites equal 2 months, 20 equal 4 months, 30 equal 6 months, and so on.
What happens if an invited manager stops playing?
After 48 hours without authenticated activity the user is marked inactive. If the inactivity threshold that removes the club is reached, the referral is revoked and free Plus is recalculated.
Can a revoked referral reduce Plus that I paid for?
No. Recalculation affects only free Plus earned through referrals. Paid purchases remain separate.
Leagues and cups
How many league matches are there?
Each league has 12 clubs and 22 matchdays, home and away.
How do the Bronze playoffs work?
The top four compete for two promotions. If no 7-point barriers already settle positions, 1st plays 4th and 2nd plays 3rd. Both winners are promoted directly; there is no final between them.
How do Silver playoffs and playouts work?
The top four compete for two promotions to Goalsd. The bottom four compete for two survival places; without 7-point barriers, 9th plays 12th and 10th plays 11th, with both losers relegated. Only the ties still required are played.
How is the Goalsd League title decided?
The top four determine the podium. Without decisive 7-point barriers, 1st plays 4th and 2nd plays 3rd, followed by the title final and third-place match.
What is the 7-point rule?
If adjacent clubs in the post-season zone are separated by at least 7 points, a sporting barrier is created. Positions that are already clearly separated do not need to be fully reopened by playoffs.
Who plays in the National Cup?
From the second season: the previous 12 Goalsd clubs, 12 Silver clubs and top 8 Bronze clubs, for 32 teams. The bottom 4 Bronze clubs are excluded.
Who qualifies for the World Elite Cup?
From the second season, previous Goalsd League final standings count. Italy, Spain, England, Germany, France, Brazil, Argentina and Portugal have 3 places; Netherlands, Mexico, United States and Japan have 2.
What happens if a cup match is level?
Extra time is played and, if still level, the match is decided by penalties.
Training, development and career
How long does training last?
A cycle lasts 9 World days. You cannot start another cycle while one is active.
Why did a player not improve after training?
Growth is progressive and depends on the player. Progress may accumulate before becoming a visible increase, and already-high attributes are harder to improve.
Does playing matches help development?
Yes. Actual minutes played contribute to experience and development without replacing training.
When does decline begin?
From age 28, progressive attribute decline may begin. Not all attributes decline in the same way or at the same time.
When can a player retire?
From age 33 a player may decide to retire. If he belongs to your club, Staff can announce during the season that he will retire at the end of it.
When do youth players arrive?
At the start of a new season, each retiring player is replaced numerically by a new 14-year-old promoted from the youth system. The game tries to choose a useful role for squad balance.
SMana Plus
Does Plus make the team stronger?
No. Plus automates and assists management activities. It does not grant stars, attributes, SMCoins or artificial winning bonuses.
What does the Assistant Manager do?
It can prepare a rational lineup using formation, quality, fitness and availability. Rotation mode can rest starters when the technical drop remains acceptable. Your manually saved lineup always remains your final decision.
What does the Fitness Coach do?
It analyses the squad, suggests training and can automatically start the next cycle when the previous one ends.
What does the Scout do?
It searches the market for profiles consistent with the squad’s needs and level and keeps the discovered-player history updated.
What does the Doctor do?
It organises injury and recovery information and informs you when a player returns to availability.
Does Plus apply to only one server?
No. Plus is linked to the manager account and applies to every server played with that account.
Can I stack Plus periods?
Yes. If you renew while Plus is active, the new period is added to the existing expiry date.
Does Plus renew automatically?
No. Purchases are one-off. To continue after expiry you must make a new purchase.
World Nations Cup and unexpected events
What is the World Nations Cup?
It is the automatic competition between the 12 national teams in a World. It is played during the scheduled break after the club season. Managers can follow it but do not directly manage the national teams.
How are players called up?
Each national team calls up 20 players. Department numbers depend on its formation, and selection considers both current technical quality and seasonal performance.
Can a player suspended in the league be called up?
Yes. A league- or cup-specific suspension applies only to that competition. An injury or cross-competition federal suspension makes the player unavailable for selection.
What happens to my called-up players?
While with the national team they cannot be used by the club. They can develop by playing, lose fitness and suffer injuries. They return as soon as their national team’s run ends.
Are there unexpected events beyond injuries and cards?
Yes, but they are rare. Short illnesses and, much more rarely, longer disciplinary or federal measures can occur and can affect human- and BOT-managed players equally.
Account, identity and inactivity
Can I customise my club name, colours or badge?
No. The club has its own official identity, independent of the coach. A manager can change jobs during a career but does not change the club’s identity.
Must account first and last name match the coach name?
No. During registration you provide account data separately from the public name of your virtual coach. The game displays the coach identity, not the account holder’s real data.
Can I later change my coach name?
The chosen name identifies your career and cannot be changed directly. The administration can correct it when necessary.
Does fitness only affect recovery between matches?
No. Fitness also represents how much of a player’s level he can express during a match. A fresher team can therefore gain a real advantage without making the result automatic.
What happens if I stop playing for a long time?
After 5 matches without activity you may receive a warning. After 10 matches the club can be released and assigned to a BOT so the competition can continue.
